A long time ago my dad used to take me to the sprint car races and they were non winged . Then started going myself and saw the outlaws and thought WOW these guys are FAST and would go to any winged show within a 5 hour drive (eldora) But then noticed as wings got better was seeing less passing and I kinda got less interested in wings went back to non winged and saw 2 3 4 wide racing again and thats where I:m at now The non wing guys may be just a tick slower but its a better show with wheelies slide jobs and sise by side racing just my opinion

I love sprint car racing.
Doesn't matter to me if it's got a wing, or without a wing. The difference between me and a lot of people that bash wings is the dream of racing whatever type of sprint car available. Winged or not, doesn't matter to me. 305 or 410? Either way works for me. I'm a fan of sprint car racing in general, and it doesn't matter what it is. To bash something is really stupid, could it be better? Absolutely, but to bash it is downright stupid. I grew up watching Brett Mann race his butt off around I-96, Ken Mackey at Butler, and I traveled with the GLOSS series, and SOD when I could, and loved every minute of it.
I saw my first non-wing race back in 2002 at Gas City, it was great. But it was great because it was a sprint car race. To love one, and hate the other... that's just stupid.

Is it just me or is this one of the top, most ignorant posts ever presented on this forum?

Do you have the right? I guess. If somebody posts about wings, you don’t like wings, ignore it. Seems simple to me.

To bash, or not to bash; that is the question.
Yes. You have the right to bash winged cars. Just as someone has the right to bash non-wing. Simple enough.
But, why bash? Why not just comment and exchange ideas; enjoying the styles of racing that we appreciate. It takes different driving techniques to master either style of racing, and only the truly great can master both -- the same as dirt and pavement.
I like a good sprint car show, whether it is winged or non winged, paved or dirt, a 328, 360 or a 410. It can come on a big half mile, quarter mile bull ring, or anything in between.
But, more importantly, I like a good race regardless of what is running. There have been nights I covered a sprint car race and come home talking about the bomber feature.
I get sick of the snobbish attitude of some people who want to belittle those in other forms of racing. Just enjoy what you do, and leave the others alone to enjoy what they do.
Pretty simple.
Out here in Iowa, I only get to see non-winged cars a couple of times a year. Other than Knoxville and Burlington, my options for sprint car racing on a weekly basis are pretty limited. Both are a two-hour drive from the office. In my three years out here, I have come to more greatly appreciate the many talents of those driving dirt modifieds, late models, street stocks and even sport compacts.
I'd love to see a sprint/modified pairing in which the best dirt modified drivers from Iowa and the best sprint car drivers from Indiana race one night in sprint cars and the next in modifieds. Just stop and think about how some of those modified drivers have done in recent years at the Chili Bowl.
It'd be a helluva show.

Personally im waiting for some Indiana track to do a NW ASCS head 360 class. Only way we're ever gonna see counts rise again.
