Top twelve cars qualify for the A main and are again lined up according to an inverted point average. Postions 13-24 are set by the results of the B-mains.

Pill draws are the worst. Putting the fastest car on the front row of his heat race always leads to a horible heat race. The only way to make it worse? Put him on the pole for the main event.

thAnother horrible plan is when e field is set by time trials, and the cars can win thier heat race, but start behind a car that raced in tfrom the B-main get thier times back. It always amazed me how someone he B-main.
Yes, isn't it amazing how often someone "forgets", that "no, you don't get your time back if you run the "B", everyone that runs the "B", starts behind the one's that qualified thru their heats, then the invert is determined by a pill draw, depending on how you have your rules set up, 2-4-6-8-10, and sometimes 12. Works good, I think! Bob!

There is only on thing that we do worse than drawing pills and that is qualifying. We would do better with an inverted pill draw. Start with 50 balls and use the highest number drawn to start first. Then we would start drawing 1 and 2's. It aint fair but the crowd in the bleachers like watching a guy fight through the field to win his race.

Anyone who says they "don't draw well" has got to be joking. Any mathematician or statistician will tell you that if you draw long enough, you will get as many front rows as you do back rows. Sure, in one season, you may draw 4 front rows and 7 back rows, but the odds have to catch up sooner or later and the next season you should get 7 front rows.

This is of course assuming that the pill draw procedure is a fair one. I've heard of some tracks where they don't allow people to watch the redraw, and that sure raises some suspicions.

If you want to switch things up some. Get a kid out of the stands to flip a coin as the race is being lined up if he flips "heads" race starts the way it is lined up "tailes" first 3 rows go to the tail. That would make 1/2 of the races start the fastest on the tale unless we was on the front row.

Math man 14 did you read that whole chapter on probility we only get a couple of dozen draws a year how many years does it take to break even 1,2,10,100?
