Only 1 that I know of back in the late 80's / earily 90's. If I'm not mistaken it was 1990.

This is totally on topic. You may want to educate yourself and do some research before playing moderator on here. If you follow the St. Louis midget owners/drivers, they historically do not travel beyond 100 miles of St. Louis. Yes, there is a core of a few teams from that area that go beyond that but not enough to keep all you "car count" hungry IOW fans happy. For example, check out how many teams showed up at Sun Prairie when the St. Louis group co sanctioned races with BMARA. Count em on one hand if that many. Most all of em don't show.

Secondly, the four midget events scheduled for August 13 are about an hour apart, some less depending on the venue. Many of the USAC sprint car drivers also have midget rides and there are teams that field both sprints and midgets, so kindly deduct all those drivers and teams from showing up at one of these August 13 events.

Thirdly, the two biggest hot topics (IMO) on IOW are dusty tracks and car counts. To keep all of you happy with the car count, just where are the 100 to 125 midgets at these four events going to come from?

Actually Don,I was poking a bit of fun back at you from reading some of your tirades in the past on "keeping it on topic"

I just posted this thread because I do follow POWRi quite a bit when I get the chance,as they always seem to have good racing. I've even skipped USAC races in my own backyard to go watch POWRi in another state.I'm planning on going over to DuQuoin again this weekend to watch POWRi. I hope you bring your car over and race on that weekend too.

As much as we enjoy racing with the St. Louis racers, we will not be at DuQuoin to defend our victory from last year for the Dean King Memorial. I cannot justify traveling 1000 miles round trip with no announced tow money and the officiating incident that took place there back in December. Look for us this coming season at select USAC, BMARA, ARDC and open competition shows.
