The company that makes the book now is out of the Chicagoland area I have a copy of the 2010 edition of the National Speedway Directory. I have copies going back to 2002. I got the book every year since 02. Allen is still an advisor to the book publishers I ran into him at Illiana a year or so ago.

now the next question may not be as easy to answer ... of these numbers, how many are currently active, and how many have sat 'idle' this year, or for more years ... ?? .. and what state has the most 'inactive' tracks sitting idle .. ??
