You might be talking about Hales Corners. It's been gone now for quite a few years. I didn't really care for the track but we seen a lot of races there.

Maybe you need to bring your wife down to see the races and let all of the IOW folks help persuade her into moving to the great state for auto racing. If she loves you, she would have to love us, right?
You could try to persuade my wife but i doubt it will work. You would think if she loves me she would love all the IOW folks but the question is......does she REALLY love me.

Tim, I was wondering about Hales Corner, I don't remember the years, but we used to go in that area, to one of the WKA Kart tracks, that was on the National circuit, racing karts, and would usually be in the area for 4-5 days, and if there was a Sprint car race there, we'd go, wangs only as I recall. Looked like there had been a concrete maybe go-kart road course in the infield at one time, it was still visible. Saw a Sprint car driver almost burn up there one night, he had bounced off turn 4 wall, and came to a rest right in front of us, knocked out,and on fire, looked like the Keystone Kops in action, they weren't sure where to park the ambulance and fire truck, finally, and I mean FINALLY, a young lady on the ambulance team leaned in over the fire, and muscled him out, and saved him, and I don't think she even hesitated. It all happened so fast, I didn't have time to snap a picture, but it is etched in my mind. Mid 80's maybe. Wondered if the track was still in action. Thanks! Bob

Now that is interesting, I just Googled Hale's Corner Speedway, and there is a boat load of history on the internet about that track, now occupied by a Menard's big box store, but the info about the track, and the video's are worth the time. Ck it out! Bob

They did have a bunch of non wing sprint and midget races besides the wingers. My Dad has video of a car going out of the park over the wall in turn 1 and the car disappeared into the trees. After a minute the guy climbed through the branches and came out and was standing on top of the wall!

It sure would be nice if we could get USAC to bring the sprinters to WI!
staggerman, where do you reside at? Must be in my area if you hit Manty and Plymouth for the 360's. I'm just a couple miles from the track in Plymouth, i use to work at the track 30 years ago. I hear cars on the track now, must be one of Randy Sippel's driving schools on a Wednesday night.
