You guys always have to take shots at USAC. Let's see if Must See is around in 60 years.

We're all sprint car fans -- wings, no wings, dirt, pavement -- it really makes no difference to me. I just love sprint cars!

I do believe it is exciting that a new series is bringing out 31 cars on a cold May evening. Something to celebrate whether or not we're all pavement fans or not. Fact is, I grew up watching Lloyd Beckman and Lonnie Jensen and Wolfgang and Dick Sutcliffe and Jan Opperman and a dozen more stars run at Eagle and Midwest and Sunset speedways out in Nebraska. I never even knew sprints ran on pavement until I came to Indiana!

I met Hurryin' Hank Lower in around 1987 or 1988, out on Baer Field Raceway before the feature race. We stood and chatted for about 20 minutes while they were preparing for the feature. He told me that night that, quote, "Asphalt is what you drive on when you go get groceries..." I thought that was rather comical since he was planning to do his best to win a race that evening on asphalt!

So, obviously people change... I like both surfaces. Completely different races and cars -- both very exciting to watch.

I like Gas City and Winchester best of the tracks I visit often -- diametrically different tracks, but both put on great races.

Anyway -- anyone who is at Salem tonight -- please give us the qualification results, and the race line-ups and results!

Thanks. James
