I agree with Seadog...just for the record we were in a declared war with the British,,the japs bombed Pearl Harbor then declared War on us..btw list the war crimes the British commited on captured American soldiers and I'll list what the japs did to American soldiers they captured...War is hell -but some races enjoy torture and brutality...that can't we all get along stuff only goes so far

This reminds of a good old joke you may have heard.....

4thGrade History Class. Teacher decides to have a Popquiz and who ever answers the questions correct can go to recess early....
1st Q. Who invented electricity?
Little Japanese boy up front answers Ben Franklin.....off he goes...

2nd Q. Who invented flight and where?
Little Japanese boy on the other side of the class answers: Orville and Wilbur Wright Kitty Hawk, NC.......off he goes to recess.

Little Johnny in the back of the class says under his breath...ah F*#@ the Japs!!

Teacher Stands up and asked in a stern voice....WHO SAID THAT??

Little Johnny stands up and says Harry Truman 1945.....Can I go to Recess Now??

I'm not mad at anybody. I am old and I just don't forgive and forget that easily. As a young child growing up in the early 50's, what they did to us was still very fresh in the minds of a good bit of our population. It was instilled in me by family that endured it.

Let's just say that me not buying a Toyota is just my own little way of protesting what the Japanese did to us almost 70 years ago. You can buy all the Toyotas you want. I'm not personally hurt in any way.

Choice is what makes the U.S.A. so wonderful.

There is a big Toyota plant in Greensburg Indiana that seems to employ alot of people.

I just heard on the radio that the dude that had the throttle stick on his car and called the police is 4 months behind on his car payments and has a bunch of money problems. Its hard to beleive the press told a story that they didnt check out before they reported it!

Maybe if the press would get off the health care bandwagon they could try telling us idiots just a little of the truth!

Uhhh, might want to look at that plant again. I think it is a Honda plant. I could be wrong though.

It's a HONDA plant in Greensburg and if you want I can show you a big empty field that use to be the GM plant in Anderson, or the big empty Ford/Vistieon (spell?) plant in Connersville that if we didn't have them making cars for a Japanese company here using skewed sales tatics then those factories would be open, paying higher wages with the profits returning here to the USA to an American company who would be spending their profits HERE and not Japan.... kind of like the arguement about illegals, they have to work here so they can support their families back in mexico, to the tune of sending 60 billion US dollars a year OUT of our economy..... every dollar you send out of this country costs us far more in the long run. As far as the idiot in California, he might be a fake BUT all those other complaints have been investigated and found to be true AND now there are complaints that cars that have been "corrected" are doing the same thing all over again....

From Wikipedia,

Historians assert that the attack was in retaliation for the American looting of York, Upper Canada (now Toronto) after the Battle of York in 1813, and the burning down of the Parliament Buildings of Upper Canada. The British Army commanders said they chose to attack Washington "on account of the greater political effect likely to result,".[4]

Governor-General Sir George Prevost of Canada wrote to the Admirals in Bermuda calling for a retaliation for the American sacking of York and requested their permission and support in the form the provision of naval resources. At the time, it was considered against the civilized laws of war to burn a non-military facility and the Americans had not only burned the Parliament but also looted and burned the Governor's mansion, private homes and warehouses.[5]

Further proof of the intention was that after the limited British burning of some public facilities, the British left. There was no territory that they wanted to occupy, no military facility that they had planned to attack, and the attack caused no American casualties.

Here's the link...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washington

So based on this, who was the bad guy here? So because this was a "declared" war, that makes the attack in York(Toronto) OK? As dant says, war is hell...Just don't get all noble and high and mighty until you've got all of the details.....

My bad, i thought it had been answered. Most if not all Toyotas have a button starter, if you have the button starter and you turn it off it WILL lock the steering. The only solution is to put it in nuetral and get it stopped and then turn it off. So yes you can do that but you can't just turn it off and steer it to safety...... I would say from his quote, he was scared, he panicked and called for help. Not all people are capable of handling a deal like this under pressure BUT IMHO I think he's either lying or blowing it out of all context.....
