Congrats to Jason McCord on your new position. Another positive step for the SC. Duquoin will, of course, be the Sunday night (8/31) of Labor Day weekend. How about that weekend in July? SC & midgets at ORP Thursday, SC at Terre Haute Friday, and the Anderson 400 for midgets Saturday!:applaud::thumb:

In spite of knowing what he does about USAC he still steps up to the plate to make a difference.

Kudos to Jason for jumping into the glass house that is USAC. :thumb:

Good Luck and don't let the gray hair that is sure to be making an appearance soon slow you down. :emote20:

Dick.
Last year the pavement races were "new" type cars only. Wouldn't that just be the deal to have both the "new" and "old" style cars compete at the short tracks? Maybe that would bring back the 35-40 car fields; at least at those races.:applaud:

how compatiable would the old and new cars be? I'm thinking the old cars would blow the new ones away on short tracks?

I think if USAC does allow the old cars (which is a good idea IMO), I think the new cars should be given a small advantage over them to reward the teams that invested in them....

That would be pretty cool if the old and new ran together. If an old car won a race it might just upset some of the new car owners....I say if that happened sorry for their luck. All this "have to move in the future thing" would be interesting to say the least. I will be good and not elaborate on that situation. I say line'm up and see what happens... New may not always be better..... If you know what I mean.

Umm did anyone say the new cars were faster than the old ones? The old cars would destroy the new ones head-to-head without some rules changes. Yeah, not gonna happen.

I would love to see the SC cars at Kentuckey, Toledo, Winchester, and Salem.

Team up with ARCA and run Double Headers at those tracks 100 laps for each at Ky and 200 laps each at Toledo, Winchester and Salem.......now that would be an awesome day

Sean, the old style cars attempted a show at Salem on Sep. 18, 1988. It was not well recieved by either competitors or fans. Only 14 cars competed in the race won by Bob Frey. I doubt seriously that we will ever see the SC on either Salem or Winchester.
