Jason, the kids, my sis and nephews will be heading over for both nights! And I agree w/ Petey, I have seen some of the best WoO shows at this track!

I am sure the track is well worth the trip, but I can't see myself paying big $$ for a WoW race anywhere.

How 'bout a USAC Labor Day event out of StL /S IL area -
Fri - Sprints & Midgets @ Granite City (both ran there on same night before).
Sat - Sprints & Midgets @ Pevely
Sun- Silver Crown @ DuQuoin
Mon - hang around for modifieds & ARCA dayrace at DuQuoin.

Well, all I can say to everyone is this. I have been to many short tracks throughout the US, as have many of the readers on the IOW have. I-55 is not only a fast race place, but it is a fun place to watch a race. Easy to get to from I-55, and a good to track to bring the family to. Being a non wing sprint racing fan as well, I like driving up to Haubstadt and Terre Haute to watch non wing racing, they are fun race place's to watch racing and getting to. I plan on going to Haubstadt again and Lawrenceburg and Bloomington this year as well.

As far as the wing non wing issue, hey! so be it. When I get a chance to see Danny Smith, Steve Kinser, and Joe Saldana -Indiana open wheel favorites of mine, I go.

Everyone has constructive criticism about the WoO I know - I do also. So, come on out to I-55, have a good time, and support short track sprint car racing.

If it is your first time to I-55, let me know and I will show you arouind the St. Louis area. I work at the St. Louis Zoo, so if you bring your family and want to see it during the day, before the nightly races, just let me know.

Have a good day...see you at the races

take him up on it - one of the best zoos in the world. Then go to the Cafe Affton ( http://www.cafeaffton.com/ ) for their toasted ravioli & house salad (cheap & good).

randyrad, I have had an extended invitation to any race fan who ventures this way. I started this open invitation a few years ago as well as the Midwest Connection. Why? Because I, like many other fans who travel to a new track for the first time, it is like being in the "Twilight Zone."

I was also informed by DannyK who is from the Oswego, New York area that he is heading to I-55 to film the race for the two days with dirtvision. Not sure if he is at Oswego tonight for the Silver Crown's. So, I will be looking for him at I-55.

And at one time, I even went to the extent to request from the construction company next door to me, permission to park a friends Silver Crown car.

So, if you come this way maybe perhaps for the Gold Crown Nationals at Tri City Speedway, Illinois in October, give me a shout.

Have a good day...see you at the races
