Thanks for the replies, and I especially like the humor story.

We had already made the decision to send the harness, helmet, and Hans back for inspection, and everything is on its way now. The helmet and harness will be replaced regardless, just want the manufacturers to see their products. The Hans needs some attention, and we'll wait to hear what they say.

I'm not sure how much speed was involved in this, but regulars guess around 90mph before he launched. The track was fast that night, and they lowered the track record by a bunch. Avg speed for qualifying was nearly 112mph.

He is still showing signs of the concussion, but in excellent spirits, and we made up a TJ's top 10 list of funny things he said afterward. Humor is part of our remedy. Enjoy.

10. (to his dad while laying on the hospital bed)You told me to only stop if I was upside down.

9. (to himself while still in the car)Hmm, thats not where my left front is supposed to be - thats not good

8. (to his mom afterward) I told you I was doing that.

7. (to the emt's) whatever you do, don't cut my suit off.

6. (watching the video) it looks like a parade with all the confetti falling down

5. (looking over the car in the shop) looks like Spongebob made it through OK

4. (while throwing up the third time) it's kinda like sneezing - you feel better after you do it

3. (asking his dad on Sunday) am I allowed to have a popsicle?

2. (two days late) I forgot to wish you a happy birthday dad.

And #1 - as the DR was examining him and discovered something blue stuck way down deep in his ear...........
