I was there, I wasn't going to go but calling the track at 430 the message said they were a go. Where I work (Roughly Kings Island) Had only a few sprinkles all day, Going south the 40 miles I ran thru places that had had rain and others that haddnt, I get to the track and theres litterally a river running down the entry road. IM kinda affraid to park due to soft ground but found a spot.
Honestly, They started hotlaping about 730 and had the sprint feature done at 1035 37 LMs 20 Sprints and about 30 mods.
I had a few people tell me the ran thru hard rain, I bet a few teams turned around, stayed home.
I said the track drained well didn't I? But even I was pretty sure after what I pulled into they'd call it. By 730 sun was out, track was run, Infield had iffy spots but HELL YEAH another heavy Florence speedway.
I witnessed heat races you could have thrown a blanket over the top four for multiple laps. The feature, Half that race was a battle between Cummins/Fass till KABLEWEE and then Cummins/Short/Windom. WIndom took control with about 7 to go, Ballou passed Short then gave Cummins a Suicide slide from hell, Basically Im around you, Lift or crash in two. Then chased down Windom in traffic, I don't know, I think Windoms lucky that was the last lap, Robert was hauling and on him at the line.
That being said, Congrats WINDOM!, Glad everybody is safe and thats two of three MSCS races there that I've seen that was STELLAR! Fans were saying, I never see anyone on the wall in four
Chuck, who left half way into the LM Feature, got home at midnight and fell into bed asleep before I hit the pillow after a 23 hr day.
P.S. That track like that features some of the best sprint car racing I've seen. PERIOD.
