I too, agree with the thoughts that have been expressed here, but this does not include any Sprint car racing, for the moment, this was only to be a one car test, to see if the physical size of the track, could support Sprint car racing, sometime in the future, and I feel sure that if this test had been done, and the decision had been made, to indeed race Sprint cars there, the safety issues, and concerns will be addressed, before any racing would be scheduled, and yes, it would be quite a task, to upgrade the barriers, and fencing, as well as maybe relocating the pit area, we used to pit in the woods, and off turns 3-4, and believe it or not, where we pit now, was the infield of the original track, it was, I believe, a half mile, but the trees now tell us where it used to be. Looking forward to the possibility of track upgrades and improvements, to maybe allow some Sprint car racing there. Bob

I have to agree with everyone. Decent facility, but some major saftey concerns. It was just 2 years ago that a figure 8 car deove true the fence, then thru the boundry fence, and ended up crashing into a car parked inside the garage. If that fence can not hold, basically a demolition derby car, there is no way it is going to hold a sprint car. However I do love the fact of racing returning to fairgrounds.

Bob,
I don't even think its a good idea to TEST there with a sprint car with more than a dozen people on hand, including medics.
With as many people that will want to oooooh and aaaaaah at JT slinging that thing around Osgood, its a recipe for disaster.

Jon, I'm bettin Terry Eglan would not take any chances with the paying customers, I'm sure he would take the necessary precautions to keep folks out of harms way, and ya gotta start somewhere, when you start looking for places to run, I don't know what they've done down there this year to protect the Grandstand area, or what funds are available to address any issues. Maybe, if it quits raining, we'll get down there and take a look at it, and, the people that will be handleing the insurance will probably look it over good also. They may be able to get some funds from the Casino's, to make improvements, I know several other towns/cities, have shared that tax money. Bob
