"Because its a public forum! If you only wanna talk to tony, then you use the personal message system"(typical hateful answer on this board). I get in on it because its funny to me(maybe some others). I'm not doing it to be a dik or to be mean. Im half of your age, and I can joke about it or wait for somebody else to get on here and make it negitive. I love the fact that you don't care!

PEOPLE POST! YOU STARTED IT.

If you wanted this message to go to Tony only, then send a private message. If you post in a public forum.... you should expect the public to join in.

Hey Duke, I've been getting NSSN for going on 32 years now. That's where I used to read about your racing heroics. And I still have both copies.....

I think the decline of print circulation is true everywhere. The only reason I still get NSSN is for the columns including Chris's and the local results you don't find easily elsewhere. My wife and I were both contributors for about 10 years and we still paid to get the paper. This board and others like it are also part of the reason for the decline like Craigs List is to the daily newspaper. You don't need to wait for NSSN anymore when you can go to the USAC website and watch it live. It's just the way things are today and who knows what will happen to NSSN when there is no longer a column by Chris. My good friend says he still gets it just to check the obituaries to make sure his name isn't in there

Anyone want to buy about 45 years of NSSN?

[QUOTE=Tony Barhorst;98294]SHORT TRACK RACING IS HUGE!!...The newsprint business is slowing...but how many people get the NSSN online now? The ads and all should be in there.

Here is a bit of trivia:
I know Chris Economaki would drop off free copies of the NSSN to most of the Bob Evans restaurants in Indianapolis when he arrived for the month of May.[/QUOTE

Tony,
Do you think it is more important to spend your advertising budget on local media or in NSSN and on the web? I'd like your opinon because you've been successful.

Tony I respect your opinion as a promoter. I've been to your shows as both a spectator and a crewman. I was especially impressed with your Boswell show. What I was trying to say was filling the stands for a few special shows is different than doing it consistently, all season long. I'm sure the minor league baseball team in South Bend averages better attendence per game than say any of the surrounding tracks. New paris, Plymouth, M-40 or Hartford.
Can a track support 50 or 60 dates a year? I highly doubt it. You know, and I know that most promoters are/were successful in another business. They aren't stupid. The general public doesen't know a the differnce between a sprint, midget or a late model. This and segmentation among fans of different types of cars, causes a promoter to really scrutinize his advertising budget.
Thanks , I didn't know that about Economaki. Good marketing.
