While it was a guess, in the interest of full disclosure, Tim used to race sprinters back in the early 1990's with NARC, and I used to crew on another NARC car at the time...but I didn't know Tim back in the long hair days....

He'd gotten a haircut by the time I met him......The Grass Valley clue helped ID him...

Ah the good old days... There was quite a group of us who hung out through our QM years. Jeff, Bobby and Paul Mcmahon, Greg Decaires, Mike Wasina JR. among many others.

John Bickford used to pay us well lets say more mature drivers to run in the light division to race Jeff and he would tell us to use him up. That poor kid got crashed and spun more times then Brian Vickers at a Dale JR fan club meeting. But he never complained and was always eager for the opportunity to run with the older group.

I never realized the impression that we made on him until the first time he introduced me to Ray Evernham as "This is the guy who taught me how to drive a race car" It was very humbling to say the least. Its funny to this day it seems like sometime during a conversation some old QM memory becomes a topic of discussion. Man those were some great times !!

I remember those days..lol I was on the younger end of those guys but still got to race with a few of them. They use to bump me up to run with those guys once in a while to run modified and B just to fill the field. We use to hold our own pretty good. My favorite momories was sleeping in John's camper and eating fried chicken. Used to love Baylands, Crackerjack the track up neer redding wasn't to bad either. Remember the Pombo's they used to not like us going to fresno very much seemed they always tried to put us through a wall... Greg V
