and the old timers complained that rollbars made brave a-holes out of every wombat out there and all they did was wreck cars

I read stories about the old board tracks. Man talk about some fast dangerous racing those Drivers just WOW!!!!!!!!

Wow, those guys were crazy! It makes me proud to be racing with the "modern" version of those guys....and it raises up my level of respect for those pioneers up *that much* more

That photo is from 1962 (last year of flathead power at Reading) with driver, Calvin Calp.
