We went through the same on midget weekend. We would not have been able to run midgets on Sunday because it was simply too wet. By the time we ran Monday, we couldn’t get the track to slow down, it was so juiced up from rain 36 hours earlier.
No track wants to cancel their Saturday show. It is the biggest of the week. They all lost both Saturdays, which is a huge loss of income. Yes, that’s right - East Bay & Volusia also cancelled on Saturday.
It sucks. No one wants to cancel, especially the final night.
Contrary to what people believe not all of Florida is sand, East Bay has rain outs when we get a big storm ,not because the track is not manageable but because the pits are impassable. It’s a call no promoter or sanctioning body wants to make ,unfortunately they have to sometimes.
