Its the break I have been looking for, whats so scary :P:P:P
I had an absolute blast this past weekend working with Mike King, Davey Hamilton, Bob Jenkins, Dave "The King" Wilson, K.O., Kevin Lee, Mark Jaynes, Wally Leavitt, and a host of others. Probably the best experience I have had at a race track. Also got to talk with Pat Sullivan in the hotel, and in the P.A. booth, he did a superb job as always. I got to work the practices on Saturday and Qualifying. The qualifying is archived and on the website if you all want to critique it..lol I was up in the booth helping out with the transitions and spotting during the race on Sunday after working the Lights race in the pits. I wish I could rewind and go back and do it all over again. And thanks Helio for the dance...even though I stepped on your left foot |

I really enjoyed some of Pat's comments during Wheldon's three wide kamikaze run. He mentioned something about the drivers being nuts, said that rubbbin' isn't racing, and later when it looked like they were going to try three wide again he said " ...not again" in a concerned tone. :O: Great announcing Pat.:applaud: It's cool to go to the IRL races and hear a familiar voice on the PA.
I still can't believe that three wide run. He had to be inches away from the gray area/marbles up high. I would imagine that Wheldon's pucker factor had to be pretty high during that. We're all probably lucky he didn't generate some sort of universe destroying anti-matter in between his cheeks during that run. I probably could have made a couple diamonds just watching it. |

I have done over 80 IRL events - and that was the best or near the best - although there were moments when I had a Ryan Briscoe flashback and it scared the crap out of me -- It was a disaster waiting to happen - although that is also what made it so thrilling
thanks for the kind words |

I was there Sunday, what a show! I live 10 miles from MIS and can't believe they canned that race. It is no more dangerous than ChicagoLand. The last race at MIS was also a barnburner show in 2007. The Sunday before I was at the Detroit GP in turns 9 and 10. NO PASSING in Detroit. Great job on the P/A Sunday Pat. You couldn't get out of your seat when the green was on. I wish they would run 2 races a year at Chicago. Can't wait for the night race next year.

After watching the first half with the listless Cincinnati Bengals collecting their paychecks:headbang I turned on the IndyCar race. Have to admit the last few laps were nailbiters. Good finish.
