When Wolfgang was in the Weikert #29 he ruled every track. Didn't he won like 55 races in one year? I'm counting all the races he ran in PA plus the special shows too Think he won like 17 races in a row too Pretty dam impressive to me

It was something like that, Jim. He had a big year in the Danny Peace 8D in 1989 too. Kinser Won 46 WoO Mains plus 10 prelims for 56 total in 1987!

In 1985, he won 55 races in 85 starts and 17 straight.

If Sammy was in the 1 Kodiak car, who was in the black TMC #1 in the first picture? Love the fact it wasn't a mass of semi-rigs and massive toter homes

I didnt make it to Pa. till 1988. Just going to Lebanon Valley was a 5 hr drive, and the furthest I had been before that was Stafford Connecticut, and Riverside Park in Agawam, Massachusetts for NASCAR Modifieds. Its not as easy to get around in New England/NY as it is out here in Indiana due to the landscape. As the crow flies its not all that far, driving there is a different story. No one at home seemed to want to go to different races as badly as I did either. I was also young then and could spend money faster than I could make it as well.

I think Sammy was always in the To Much Chrome car, as he brought them in to racing as they made Challenger chassis. I'm thinking Brad Doty was the first driver of the Kodiak car.

TooMuchChrome....lol...hadn't heard that one before. Yeah, Brad was in that car but I don't think it had the #1 on it when he was in the car. In the pictures, it definitely has Sammy's name one the side of the car. Wondering if the picture of the pits was from a later date. Tried to do a little digging to see if I could find something but didn't find anything. I did find that in1987 the Outlaws were paying $8000 to win at Knoxville early in the season. They now pay $10,000 to win a regular show. Any see a problem with this?

$8000, possibly on a final night of a two day show. They used to pay $5200 to Win a single day show in the late 80s or early 90s.
