As a lifetime Indy southsider 37 to Bloomington is a NIGHTMARE. I have found a much faster and stress free route. Take S.R. 135 south to Nashville and then west on S.R. 46 to Bloomington only about 15 miles, this could and will save you at least 45 minutes . Doing this you will see beautiful Brown County.

The infield at the fairgrounds were packed last year with the best crowd I have seen in the past 10 years. Being able to drive in, cook out, and drink out of your cooler brings out a lot of folks. The grandstands never seem to be very well attented though.

From Indy's West Side, its much easier to get to Bloomington by going down I-465 to S.R 67 down to S.R 39 to S.R 37.

As I found last year though, with the construction on 37 in the Bloomington area its a pain to get down there if leaving after work from Indy on a Friday afternoon.

Someone else might have an even better way from the West Side. Thats how I have been going when I go.

I think it took me longer to drive from Indy to Bloomington on 37 than it did to drive from the northeast corner of the state (Angola) to Indy when I went there last spring.
