Thanks for all memories of haubstadt. My dad passed away earlier this month. He used to talk about going to haubstadt during the first few years it opened. It was sort of our home track even though it was 2 hours away.

He started taking me there in the last half of the 1970's. They raced on Sundays and i remember them pitting inside the track. Haulers were a lot smaller then. We would stop at the Lakeview truckstop for dinner and afterwards if they were open for coffee. We always had popcorn at the track. We always sat towards turn 1 aka the 41 side. After the races, dad would always turn on some kind of classical music. I was usually asleep in 5 minutes.

I don't remember too many drivers diring my early years. I mostly remember rooting for Tommy Helfrich in the lates. I seem to remember seeing Kenny Jacobs in the 80's for some regular shows.

Tss is still my favorite track. I have been able to get back there several times over the past few years. Dad was not able to attend so i was able to tell him about all the action.

Thanks for allowing me to take a trip down memory lane.
