Let's see if I can field these in order...

Jim, thanks for your feedback. Not sure if I was on the limiter or just missing a tad, but it definitely sounded different to me at the end of the straights, but only late in the "B"; still pulled strong outta the corners though.(Sorry to see you DQ'd for weight by the way; you had 'em covered...)
Sprintracer & Robert, not sure if the nerfs are moly or mild steel; they're what were on the car when I bought it. When Jack turned in he caught me pretty solid smack in the middle of the span of the bumper, then I think I rode up over his left front. I think the damage was done when I came back down, possibly on Jack's left rear because I tore his sail panel off somewhere in the process; I think that's what did the damage because everything is bent upward, and the rear spuds tore out of the frame on the underside of the tubes.
Dad, You're half right, Hilborn, but an MSD MC-3 box (with Dyna coils) with an 11,000 RPM chip; I ran a 14-53 gear combo, which according to my handy-dandy Excel spreadsheet gives me a 9.663 final drive in 2nd. Stagger was 83-1/2 - 76-3/4, or 6-3/4".
And yes, I felt like I was improving, especially my corner entry, which helped me run a smoother line, which helped me getting the power down coming off. I paid close attention to the lines Jim, Colin, Nathan and (early on) Doug were taking going into 3 in the Feature and I think I learned a trick or two on how to be even better on entry on a slick, flat track.

You were Pretty close on the gear, had we been gearing for 11000 it would have been about 10.02. There is a very good chance you might have been getting into the stutter zone just a little. Always best to be a little high on the gear and work your way down.

As soon as I get a hold of Doug I'll get you a twin city gear together.

3/4" emt conduit is all I use and it holds up well. Nice part is my nerfs costs about $2.75 each thanks to your local home depot. From the stands, looks just like everyone else's. For us poor folk, gotta find the dollars somewhere.....😁

I appreciate everyone's input (and apologize if it appears that I highjacked this thread; certainly not my intention). Looks like I may have more serious issues as there's a pretty large puddle of oil under the car. I know I have one stripped oil pan bolt hole thread and it's been weeping all season but this is a lot more than the quarter-sized drips I've gotten in a week's time previously. I'm pretty sure it's from the contact or subsequent landing but if it's not something I can remedy easily once she's on the stands I fear the motor's going to have to come out. Best-case is all it needs is a heli-coil and a new gasket, second best is a cracked pan (anybody got a good pan for a '92 GSXR?). Third best I don't even want to think about...

EBay for the pan, man. That's how I kept my car alive longer.

On the original note, a lightning sprint can be competitive with a midget. I will support people's input as driver and setup are key.😉

If it has an oil spot under it top up and race, that means it has oil in it. If it doesn't have a spot on the floor under it you are probably out of oil and requires attention.

It's not a spot, it's roughly the size of a turkey platter.
And now I'm out of action for a couple days; delayed reaction to a yellowjacket sting I got unloading the trailer Saturday...
