Ossuks: what is midwest? At least 3 groups in the Indiana/Michigan area. It is a tough sell for truck fuel, race fuel, tires, pit passes, etc. The winged guys don't pay very good, but much better than non wing. Not that many well healed sponsors.

USAC had large crowds and solid car counts when Johny Capels retired (alot of the credit goes to the late Gary Sacola). The main reason USAC pavement sprints were surviving was that Gary had a solid deal with Hoosier and he returned the money to the car owners...then in came USAC"s current administration...aka... "Human Cash Sucker" and now there are no pavement sprints in USAC!!

Please re read. What I said was I can put a wing on and get paid a lot more. For me a race in Indiana and a race in Missouri are a lot different at $4.20 a gallon for diesel. So to me the expenses are a lot different. Not meaning to start anything. I was trying to explain why it's a hard sell for big car counts.
