Wow I just did a Google search of Du quoin. That big track is sure big, the mini is located in the building right across from the big track. The big track makes that building sure look really little.

The big question is what do they use the track just a little further west on US 51 for?

I'm pretty sure that's a gravel trotter track. Like the one in the infield of the Indy Fairgrounds mile.

Jonesy

Naw them farmers down in Southern Illinois use that high tec forecasting software service known as the "Farmers Almanac".

I think Roy is probably talking about this weekend's first installment of the "Battle in the Center".
Should be one heck of a race.

I can go to a race like this and stand up the hole time. For some reason I tend to nod off and sleep half way through most of them NASCAR or come to think of it INDY races.

Dave Darland is going to go down and run an ARCA race at Daytona this winter. Sure hope he takes a good book with him to help him pass the time during the race.

It would sure be GREAT if some of us mini Sprinters could send Dave a little money to help support his efforts. Wanting to emulate Guys like Dave is probably the reason many of us are racing these things today. Think we got expense? You ain't seen nothen until you try to race one of them cars. The tire bill would bust me.

Yeah, I know Dad, I'm just bein' cheeky.
I'm planning on going this weekend too if the weather doesn't get TOO bad; at least I just put some new Wranglers on the Sonoma, which will help in the traction department. I went last year for the first time and it was one of the best Midget shows I've ever seen. I lost count of the slide jobs in the heats and the feature, and there were 3 and 4 car fights for position all the way through the field.
The funniest thing was there was a fight on the front straight after the Main and Tony wasn't even involved.

Yeh

I think Tony being an old man in his dotage might just be mellowing out a tad bit. I went out and charged the batteries up in the old Jitney, just in case he wanted to race, but I don't think he wants any part of me. Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with giving "DEMOS" ever so often.

The volts are in. The only thing we can tell for sure is IOW readers unlike their representatives in DC do not vote on something they have not read yet. The National rules have not been published, I would bet its voters had knowledge of its text and is the reason for their votes.I can also tell that the IOW readers want their rules inclusive to all racers the AMSA rules, ILSS rules changed for their big races and the one vote for run what you brung when added to the Tulsa rules would have represented 60 percent of the voters.

So I guess we could say the vote is still out, we will have to try this when the guys get their rules in print.

As far as the "NATIONAL RULES" goes Dad...are they true "NATIONAL RULES" if only a few series in 1 area adapt them while you have series/clubs all around the nation that do not adapt them?
