Bill, if you go around the left side of the circle inside the gates I bet Bob and Monica Clauson can make some room for you to park in front of their motorhome and its fairly close to the gate. I parked there last night but I'm not coming tonight. I can call and have them save you a spot if you'd like.

I know for many of you attending races is just normal but with all my health problems recently, I haven't been able to really do much traveling so tonight I can't wait for my eyes to burn... and smell that methanol burning. Ain't nothing better in life... :O:
Bill,
I think this is fabulous that you are feeling good enough to get out and go to a sprint week race. I pray you have an awesome time!!!!!

Bill, here was the deal last night. You can buy a pit pass at the main entrance to grandstand. From there you can pass through the grandstand and enter the pit area just like before. It is a longer walk now however. Also, last night there was a long line at that entrance right up to hot laps. If you leave Indy at 4:00 it is unlikely that you will find a parking place inside the fairgrounds midway, so if you take this option you may want to have Brian drop you off at the gate and then take the truck outside to park. If you drive in back of the grandstand, past the motorcycle track, you can park there and buy a pit pass at a booth they have there. This is where the old entrance to the pit area was located; pits to the left, concession stand (turn 4 end) to the right. Or as noted before, you can get pit passes at the competitors entrance on the backstretch.

Give me a call when you get close. Also, if you haven't done so already, check the thread concerning best routes to take in getting to The 'Burg from Indy as Route 1 is closed. http://indianaopenwheel.com/vmessage...ead.php?t=7219 Tell Brian to be extra careful this visit. I believe the last time he was here he wound up between the sheets in a Cincy crash house. :wink:checkered:
