The closes wing track is in Mo. The MASS series and Invaders (360) do pass thru. So does MSCS. With the action of Danville. The only Sprints racing in IL. is Jacksonville. And right now it's wingless. Lincoln is only going to race one show with the slim chance to run more next year. Da 750 to win. If Lincoln would match what Jacksonville is paying. Then you could run Friday night Jacksonville then Lincoln make for win win for the travelers and the track promoters. Who is going to travel for 750.00 to win. (cherry pick 750.00 at 4.79 per gallon fuel.) Make it 2400.00 for the 2 days then we may get some better cars and have better shows. Wing-Nonwing IL is still yet to be set in stone. See how many Wing cars you would get for 750.00 to win.
(if I could log on to another name less board I would say the same there.)

It don't really matter to me whether its wing or non wing i do like racing without the wing although i would rather run with it, but how many of you that post on this forum actually go to the track. Im not trying to cause any problems, like i said i race both matter of fact i was just at paragon saturday night and raced with the mass series and i have raced quite a few non wing shows as well, but how many of you are really going to go to jacksonville on a weekly basis and what benefit is to some of you to vote if you will not even be at the track. I think the track just wants to get a fair idea from the fans and drivers that run there and go and support their weekly track what their honest opinion is of what they would rather see there. Im not trying to bash non wing or pump up the wing guys.

I agree. I dont have a dog in the fight...I dont know much about the area and the racers that support it so...no vote from me.

Just curious (or Devil's Advocate), here is a bit of musing.....
I've seen various members of the Standridge family race since watching Dick Standridge back in the 60s. Most seem to be/have been winged racers. When the June 23rd event was contested, did Jeremy compete? I just was wondering if a guy just joined IOW to hint that those who prefer "no aluminum hog sheds" should not be answering the poll.
And yes, I do live in sprint car starved Illinois, for now.

Jeremy I do go to the track often and prefer no roofs, but if the cars are not going to be there, I'd rather see wing racing than no sprint cars at all. It seems like some of the wing drivers(Hurley, Wyzard, Goldesbury, etc.) that were normally there will not run without a wing. By the way, I have enjoyed watching the Standridges race since the 70's at Shaheens. I did vote for non-wing.:checkered:

Well i did want to compete, but unfortunetely i had school tuesday night and wednesday the week before. I decided to go back to college and try to finish up getting my degree so believe me i was desperately wanting to race but i figured school was more important. I have been to every other non wing show they have had there this year, and like i said before it doesn't bother me if you vote wing or non wing i just don't want to see people voting on it if they are not there to support the track. I just want to see honest voting and not from people that will not be there supporting it whether it be wings or non wing.

I live in the area and I would love to cast a vote, when I tried to cast my vote it told me I had already voted. This is the first time I had seen this poll, so I know that I had not cast my vote.

Jacksonville was once awinged track and dumped that because of lack luster car counts primarily due to the fact the regime that was in promotion at the time SUCKED.

Make it fair to both sides and run alternating weeks of wing and non wing.

Side note. Is the flag man still a Standridge?
