stewart knew his team had no chance of wining, and it was all staged (the crash and remarks) to make a boring race seem exciting

Let me get this right Johnny, So Stewart and Kinser decide before the race, Hey screw it Steve, You find me and intentionally flip me and destroy my brand new race car and possibly injure me so I cant race on Sunday for millions of dollars, because we have no chance at this one. I do hope you were joking. On the other hand he knew everyone was listening and that interview would have been lost on the back page if he didn't say something to stir the pot a.k.a. Rick Flair style. j.m.o.
