Hazen 57 Stealth

There is a very large difference between the "Stealth" coil over sprintcar and most other coil over cars. Twisters, Chalks, and others all had diagonal bracing holding together the front end. The "Stealth" coil over car had no diagonals parallel to the motor plate, from the motor plate forward. This resulted in a lot of flex in the front end, and as a result, a lot of unpredictability.

I had 1 of these cars , 2k4 stealth or some thing , it was a ex bill rose car , wasted a whole yr on the thing , it was no good at all , i now run ultra max maxim coil cars and they are great but have streched the wheel base out to 90 inch , takes the bounce out of them , think the stealth was only 85 inch.

The wheel base was 87 3/8. There also was diagonals from the radiator uprights to the motor plate. V braces in the front under the radiator and a bolt in brace that went from side to side. Stealth employee from 03-05 I would say I build a few. Shus, clausons, rose, mine. The setup had to be perfect for tjem to work if it was just a tick off you were in for a horrible night which made me want to quit. That car is why I quit paul to get a drc.

Interesting.......
Ask BC, Kevin Briscoe, or Marvel how bad the car was for them?
Some combinations are better than others.
Example one: Casey doesn't like a tight car. It didn't fit his style.
Example two: "Some guy" is commenting on "no" front diagonals... Pay attention son.
From what I "understand", that car was designed for a very specific application, and it suited it rather well from what I was told.

4wheelsinthekoosh is correct about all of the braces, and should be since he worked there.
He also mentions the brace that went from side to side and bolted in. This brace did nothing to support the front end. All other chassis manufacturers have either a X or V shape brace in that location to add lateral triangulation to the front end of the car and reduce side to side flex.
For everything to work correctly on a coil front, sway bar car, the front end has to be very stiff.

The guys that made the 2k4 Stealth fast, would have been fast in any car.

And while we're at it... Who's great idea was it to not use a radiator mount of any kind? Or sell a roller with 2" of travel on the LF shock...

I don't mind having to hustle a tight car sometimes, just didn't like a car bouncing all the way around the track.

Porpoise , pogo stick and finally s***box were terms we used in description of our`s. About 5 races was all it lasted before that big torsion bar called a frame annealed and quit being drivable. It wasn`t even a pleasure to take it to the races. We did have one though that came from Dick Briscoe that Kevin drove for us a few times and had some success.

I liked my 01' Twister, I had several twisters and F5s up to 07' and in my opinion ,none of the later cars drove as well as the 01',thats just my $.02 worth
