That car does look pretty similar to the Badger chassis popular in the states in the same time period.

Just having some fun with Wobbler when I posted the pic of "Gorgeous" George Tatnell in the Winfield Wedge. From my sometimes failing memory,I think George was one of just a few drivers that have been both Australian midget champion, and Australian sprint car champion as well.
For some reason this morning, Phil March and Robbie Farr come to mind as 2 others that have won both. Sometimes my memory is selective.

I found that photo on a website, and it was posted by Chris McGee,from a family well known in midget racing in Australia in the glory days of the 1960s.

Speaking of the glory days, I am wondering if the videos "Glory Days" the Johnny Stewart Story, and the Garry Rush Story have ever come out on DVD?? I have the Glory Days video, and the Johnny Stewart Story, but I never did get the Garry Rush Story. Would be nice to have all 3 of them on DVD.

ASQ you are correct about George Tatnell, Phil March and Robbie Farr all winning both the Australian Speedcar and Sprint car Titles.

Phew, thats good to know. I dont want anyone to think I am writing fiction!!

I see on Facebook Andrew Felker has arrived in Australia, and Ponts told me the other day "Dont worry we'll look after him while he's here"

That might be a scary thought !!

If you ever see any of the above on DVD,grab them and we'll make a swap.

Very interested in hearing this news, but was unaware this was happening. The Speedcar Super Series is a tough group of racers, you will get an eye opening experience. The racing is fierce hand to hand close racing. Its great to see co-operation between Aus and American racing and its nice to see that the champion has earned the invitation. I suggest in the future trying to make it over to Perth Western Australia for the Magic Man 34 race at the Perth Motorplex. Excellent facility and race in honor of a great man who raced here in America many times, Michael Figliomeni. http://www.motorplex.com.au/ http://www.themagicman34.com/index.html

I won the first race in honor of George Tatnell in Avalon driving for Brad Dent, and the trophy was a huge oil painting of George. Very cool.

Anthony Chaffey wins the opening round over Michael Kendall and Nathan Smee.

Andrew Felker and Alex Bright finish 17th and 18th,and from the score charts both out on lap 7. Disappoinying nights for both of them in their debuts in Australia.

And from a friend that was at Archerfield.

Andrew mechanical issues with Felker,Alex Bright won a heat and second in the other heat, had mech issues later, but showed enough to say he will be in the money soon.

Len Jones,my buddy from Australia was right last week about Alex Bright.

Bright won at Toowoomba, Queensland's Charlton Speedway last night (their time) over Michael Kendall,Nathan Smee, and Mark Brown.Andrew Felker with another disappointing finish in 15th place.

And Davey Ray mentioned the Magic Man 34,and I see that Casey Shuman and Steve Buckwalter are both entrants in that race coming up next Saturday night, along with Ray.
