I think he has it right in order of operations you always do the multiplying and division first from left to right. Then you would add or subtract from left to right.

In school we use Please Excuse Your Dear Aunt Sally to remember this rule.

Addition does not come before subtraction, they're treated the same. Just like multiplication and division are. In those cases, you just follow the order of the equation (L to R).

-Parentheses
-Exponents (and Roots)
-Multiplication & Division
-Addition & Subtraction
