Don't let the term "modifieds" scare you. The Big Block Modifieds (and 358s for that matter), are a whole different animal out east. Nothing like the IMCA style mods that run in Indiana. The east coast mods are pretty much a Silver Crown car with a body on it. Give them a shot, I guarantee you wont be dissapointed. I think they're more fun to watch than a winged sprint car race.
And fwiw, I really like the IMCA, style mods here in the mid-west. I realize though, that some on here have a big problem with them for some inexplicable reason...

If you enjoy sprints on the IN tracks. You'll like Lincoln Speedway (3/8 mi) best.
Good 410 & 358 points show most Sat nights.

Grandview is good too, but doesn't have sprints weekly, but is good for PA Speedweek, Keystone Cup week & the USAC visit.

Williams Grove & Port Royal are the big, fast 1/2 miles.
Fri nights at the Grove get the biggest car counts.
Then they split up Sat between Lincoln & Port Royal.

For a long camping trip - the best times to see all the central PA tracks & teams are Keystone Cup Wk (last week in May--> Mem Day) & PA Speedweek (last wk in Jun --> July 4)

For a quick trip -- almost any wk at the Grove (Fri), then Lincoln (Sat) or Port (Sat).
Regular points show, with handicap starts are good.
When the All Stars visit or they have a special regional race (larger car counts), they line up based on time trials.
Any night you can get both 410's & 358's are good.
It's also a good show when the regulars run vs the touring All Stars (410's) or URC (360's), or the ARDC midgets are on the card.
Of course, the best racing is the week USAC visits.
He's right about the eastern Mods, too. I think they share the card when the USAC sprints visit New Egypt, NJ.

My favorites (in order) : 1. Lincoln 2. Williams Grove 3. Grandview 4. Port Royal.

Williams Grove has typically been getting 25 cars at most for a weekly 410 race and about 28 358's. IT is still a racetrack to see a race at if you've never been there. On saturday's, Lincoln would probably be best...port is lucky to get 25 cars, and lincoln has seen as many as 30-32+ 410s and 38+ 358's weekly this year (plus i think the racing's better)

I enjoyed the Big Block Modifieds when they ran at Eldora. Unfortunately it was short lived.
