My only insight to the action is the updates provided by the wonderful postings by IOW regulars and UASC’s Twitter page. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to keep refreshing the page to get the latest update! “Five laps to go so and so leads”….then 30 minutes later the results are finally posted. To USAC, I appreciate your efforts very much, but a few more timely Tweets would be appreciated by those of us who would be there in person if only we could. |

If some of the experts have ever left the state of Indiana they may know a few things about racing and marketing. I will usually try to attend and follow through social media USAC, WoO, UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, ALMS, ARCA, FAST, Must See, HOSS, Auto Value Super Sprints, ISMA, MSA, SOD, ESS, CRA Super Series, Dirt Big Block Modifieds and probably several local unsanctioned shows every season. I'm not trying to say I know anything, I just happen to live in an area without a lot of racing and have to travel (and am fortunate to be able to do that). My point is you see a lot of different things and notice a lot of different things.
In this day and age someone else is gonna tweet it. A real race fan isn't going to get that same rush reading on a laptop what the sight, sound and smell of a real racetrack will give you. We live in a very different time then even a few years ago. What they should be doing is promotions, where if you retweet a message you are entered in a draw to win free tickets or a pit pass, or maybe a signed piece of memorabilia from the event. That way their followers retweet it and advertise an event for free. It gets viral, it's very interactive. They get more followers (because people love free stuff), and spread the word.

I'm not so sure that message boards are progress. Seems more like a step backward to me. It may be faster, but it's not better.

In a way I agree, They have a website with USAC LIVE on it. You goto sprint, Midget, SC or whatever they have a selection for LIVE Video, LIVE Timing and PHOTOS.
ITS ALMOST NEVER USED, ANY OF IT! In a way im TICKED at this thread because you have no idea if *USUALLY SPRIDGE* has other duties going on, If twitter is not updating and not USAC LIVE ect. And it kinda hacks me that someones complaining that somebody's trying to get word out. ![]() I didn't just sit here at home tonight with rain all around/across and thru Indiana, I picked what I felt was the best options, Paragon or LPS and choose one. I seen a race, Not complained about others ![]() ![]()

Last time I looked USAC was in the "business" of promoting and presenting races. Part of that is PR before the event and results in a timely manner afterwards. No where do I remember reading in the USAC mission statement that they were in the business of giving instant information to the world. You people have gotten too spoiled, use to if you wanted event info to a race you didn't attend you either A) called someone you knew the next day (which could be expensive in the pre-cell phones connect the world days) or B) you waited untill the end of the following week for NSSN. I for one do not understand people's need for INSTANT information about races in progress, just be patient and wait untill after the event is over and get all the info at once..... and you're right, it's the information highway, not the TELL ME RIGHT NOW OR ELSE highway......
