Michael, actually I am hoping to be racing soon, but we wont be coming to Clay Co. I've won there and love racing there, but that doesn't change the fact you did exactly what you said you wouldn't do! Plain and Simple! You promised me and everyone else you would stick it out with the steel blocks for atleast this season! I actually recieved a call from a steel block guy last night wanting me to help get some more guys to the track. I was ready to do that today, but I guess now I wont. He also told me you let an aluminum block car run with them last Saturday. This was only the 2nd race of the year! Btw, I hope to be racing soon, but I promise we wont come there to run against open completion for. $600 to Win! That wouldn't make any financial sense at all!

Yes we did let a alum block run. The guy lives less than 3 miles from the track. Yes its 600 to win and 1000 to win with 20 or more cars. Its also 150 to start which I think is very fare. I would love to pay more but at this point in the ball game I can't. Let me try to build up the class and a fan base and we will go from there as far as payout. Thanks

Mike i agree, thanks for trying steel blocks first but we understand if there is no support from those who asked you to try this you can not go on losing $$$$$$$. Bring on the cars!!!

Keep pluggin' away ...
we raced at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Ohio this past Saturday evening. Pays $700 to win, $400 for second, $300 for third ... you get the picture ... ($120 to start).
... there were 27 non-wing sprint cars signed in. Some very good equipment there.
The promoter pays $100 TOW MONEY!!! This is much appreciated. Look at Paragon Speedway in Indiana ... EVERY car present is guaranteed $100 ... Mr. Ford is NEVER hurting for sprint cars.
WRP has also stated that they will increase the purse as the fan base improves ...
very little in sprint car racing makes any financial sense ... unless you are renting rides or selling parts ...
... just gotta race, be safe, and have fun!

Mike, While i would prefer the opportunity to run against all steel blocks, we drove to farmington most of the time last year to run with the wing. It's a mixed bag there as well. We are still a couple weeks out from having the car ready, hopefully by the 11th, and I will also say that we won't be there every weekend. We like to run different tracks from time to time and my driver will be coming from either Ok or Tex depending on time of the year. We won't be there this week for the discussion but my opinion would be to leave the tire rule open for this year and then explore options for next year. I would like to see a weight penalty for the aluminums but we'll show up anyway.
Thanks,
Dan Chady

Its none of my concern, but if I were the promoter Id do what had to be done to get the car counts up and if that means adding alumianium blocks to the class than so be it. A feature that only has 6 cars isn't a feature, its a dash. Who wants to race against 5 other guys? And from a promoters view it certianly doesn't put asses in the seats.
For the past number of years I've been seeing steel block guys trying to get some sort of program going. Well, if the guys with the steel blocks arent supporting the shows, why would the promoter continue to book them?
Unless a steel block group comes along that has more stringent rules like the Racesaver groups back east, its going to be hard to get support. Espically when a guy with a car can get a decent used aluminum 410 and be able to race it at any track in Indiana, and the tracks that run in Illinois and Ohio...

Thanks Mike for keeping the effort. Your pay is better than Paragon. This weekend may be tough for there are many tracks running Saturday night. I feel that this will work. Your Steel Block experience was the same as mine when I tried the SCORA Series two years ago. There are many Steel Block cars out there, but they are not dedicated individuals that own them and will not support that kind of effort. I hope your new effort shows progress. One thing I would like to see is complete results reporting on all classes even if it is on facebook. Thanks for working to make things better. Sam Stockon Sr

Keep it up! I am putting a car together after a 2 season break, it is a very similar amount of time for me to go to Farmington or Clay County. I plan on running with the MOWA guy's as much as possible , I would LOVE to see another sprint show in ILLINOIS. We have to go all the way up to Jacksonville ( a touch over 3 hour's for me) or over to Farmington which is about 2 hrs drive because there is no good way to get there. I will very possibly have a steel block but, I ran Farmington and with the Midwest Allstars with an all steel 360 and had a BLAST chasin them around. I agree with other folk's here, do what ever is best for car count. I agree with Chady on the tire deal. As far as other rule's, I figure Just bring a car , if it looks like a sprint car push it out there and run it. If you run a steel block , you are only going to get sharper and sharper chasin these lightweight guy's around anyway. They spent more money, let em win more money. As the track slick's off..chase em down and have a blast.

steel block vs aluminum block, weight rule good idiea but all cars must weigh min including steel block cars, thats always been my complaint i know where there is a steel block that puts out 760pl H P if he dosnt have to make a min weight how fare is that.glad to see Mike trying to make a go of it.
