Old, unsafe tower now will be used for advertising this season. Next season, who knows. Well, I have a good idea.

HOT Laps 5:30, OPENING FAN FARE @ 6:30 1st Heat Green Flag at 7 or just before that, Checkered flag around 10 PM then FAN ALLOWED IN INFILED PITS 10:05 or ASAP after Checkered flag so they can get up close and personal with racers.:thumb

With that ambitious time table, the race fans, the racers and the noise police should be very happy from DHK standpoint. Included in that time table is "ON TRACK/ OUT OF CAR DRIVER INTRODUCTIONS" for the A MAIN.

DHK has set the standards high for the sancitioning bodies who will be there this year and beyond as to what they expect in a quailty and efficently ran program.

With all of that you can bet the staff at MSCS are hard at work preparing for what would be one of their most important "road shows" in the history of the series.

Let's all do what we can to make sure that as fans we appreciate what DHK is doing for the racers, fans and community by getting "butts" in the seats for this year.:checkered:
i cannot see how how they can have hot laps at 530 and racing at 630 or 7 that sun will be blinding going down the backstretch I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM TAKE THAT DAMN TOWER OUT OF THE INFIELD BUILD A NEW ONE ON THE OF THE MAIN GRANDSTANDS

I know that is a idea Mike has been toying with.

Personally, I don't know if the grandstands would handle it structurally. Maybe where the old tv tower is, that could be a replacement for that tower. Make it where it has windows looking down to not create a blind spot.

Thats a good thought but the roof is just a roof isn't made for anything or anybody on top.
The sun problem could be cured with a couple 3 or 4 of beer can , large inflatables place outside the wall in turn 3. This would help until the sun goes down. Then take them down.

I noticed that some of you want more work for Mike to do, but let's not forget we didn't get race at Terre Haute for a number of years. I'm just happy they still race there. I've been going there since 1963 when I was just a toddler and later got to race my sprint and midget. What a fun joint.

So keep things in perspective. I love what he's trying to do with what he has and what he has to work with.

I'd like to send them some of my old photos to see if they would like them for use on the website, but I've sent a couple of emails with no responses. Any thoughts here guys?
I've also emailed in the past about obtaining media credentials for covering races for my newspaper, but haven't heard back. Not sure whats up.

Mike's email has been acting up and sometimes it takes him a while to respond. I will talk to him on Saturday. Where you at? I can try to get him in contact with you. If you want, you can pm me your email or phone number to give to him.

In years past, the races took too long. The smeel around the town isn't as bad any more. This year, if you haven't head, racing is planned to be done 11pm at the latest barring nay weather delays. There will be new equipment to keep the dust down, no more old as dirt equipment to water the track.
