Bring in something like winged sprints, 360's, or late models on those nights. If you're a fan and all you are interested in is non-wing sprints you will probably be at another track those nights anyway, so why do you care? It just gives me the impression that the track has decided if they can't race non-wing sprints they don't care enough about the other classes to race at all.
I get what you are saying, but they would probably lose less money being closed, than running something with no local appeal.

they had to have taken a beating on that AMA bike race last year. i was there. great racing and no crowd. i know a wing show or late model show would not ruin the place. i just like the fact that are a sprint car track 1st and it seems to work good for them.

I'm sure there were some shows where they lost money trying to run a special, and I understand why they like the regular sprints because they put on an excellent regular show. I don't mean to sound combative, I just miss the days of being able to go to gas city and see such a great variety of terrific racing. I try to go to Kokomo when they add additional classes to their regular program or bring in special classes because I can see the regular shows anytime I want. I realize commenting and voicing my opinion will likely fall on deaf ears, but I wouldn't comment if I didn't care about the place.

I guess what will be interesting is to see how many local fans pull into the speedway those nights to find no race that night. Your casual fan who just goes to the races doesn't look at the schedule during the summer to see what is going on they just head out to the track and don't care what the classes are. I guess that is the down fall I see with going dark some nights during the season but that is easy for me to say as I don't have to look at the profit and loss statement each week.

Quit the bickering. We are lucky gascity is even running every Friday night. So let's be thankful we have a local Friday night track that is up north..

Mr. Kuhn Fan - Just as a heads up they are not running every Friday night as they will be closed on May 6, June 10 and July 15. Just so you don't show up those nights expecting to see a race!

Can anyone tell me the details behind the "Road to the Jack Hewitt Classic" on April 29th and July 29th?

I believe it is a mini-series of around 8 nights of racing that include Gas City, Waynesfield, and Eldora. The series started last year.
