As to the DP01's they will be mothballed for the 2008 season for sure and probably 2009 as well. The new car that is coming in 2010 will be a design that fits both ovals and road courses equally. The DP01 is said to have an oval package designed for it but none have been seen. The DP01 will obviously be tested with an oval package over the next year and and will be submitted for the replacement chassis in 2010 alond with two other makers. You will also see a change in engine design with a return to turbo's so that Honda has competition in 2010. 2009 is the last official year Honda is signed to run the IRL. They want competition and Cosworth has an engine ready to be branded with a makers name and would fit in again nicely back at Indy. |

The return of turbos now thats the best news I've heard yet. Don't care for the sound of the IRL car.

Now if TG would just add the mile dirt tracks back on their schedule he might be on his way to giving the American open wheel race fan something to get really excited about!
