There have been a lot of opinions on this, but, the bottom line is (in my opinion) there will be no Hoosier 100 race if there aren’t people in the stands of ISF. When we go race, we get paid because we are entertaining people and they pay us to do that.

When I pay my money to attend this race, I am going to see a champ dirt car race with a lot of history behind it.

Are people like myself that recognize the difference between a 100 mile Silver Crown car race and a 40 lap Sprint car race, etc. not the majority of the people in the stands? I would think that most of the people in the stands understand what they are going there to see.

That being said, in my opinion, the red flag at lap 51 make no sense. If you understand what you are going there to see, and there isn't much passing, action, etc. then you knew that going in the gate. Some of the 100 lappers are awesome races and some aren't so awesome. The tracks differ and so do the conditions and you know that going in the gate.

D.O. was going to have the promoter of this race on his show this week but I didn't hear that show and didn't see any postings on this recently.

Please let me know if there has been a decision on this one way or the other.

It's too bad your poll makes people choose between whether they'll attend and how they feel about the red flag.

I think the Red Flag sucks , but I WILL be there.

What a shame that this once great race has come to this. I first attended the Hoosier Hundred in 1967 and didn't miss attending for many years. When it ran on Saturday afternoon after Labor Day, it was hard to find an available seat. With all the date changes over the years, the crowds began to drop off. The red flag decision will probably mean that this will be the last ever Hoosier Hundred.
I agrree.
That is why I am going, if it is the last race, I want to be there to see it.

i thought last years race was great with all the top 10 or so drivers going by the pits on the inside of the track to see if they needed to stop for rubber.some did and some didnt some paid the price some didnt. made for a good race, but sometimes the yellows dont fly at the right time. THATS RACING.

We're planning on going. Hopefully we'll get to drink some more of Sprntr's free beer.
Just hope we don't get asked to leave the infield again....

...and I'm not in favor of the red flag deal either...

With the cars and drivers that the three track modified series is going to bring, I wouldn't miss it.

Yeah, I'm not to hot on the idea of lap 51 red, but I am going to support the promoters efforts to actually KEEP USAC Silver Crown racing alive on the dirt miles.

Not attending in protest is not going to help anything.

Dude I didnt come up with the stupid idea to ruin the race. USAC and Sargent/Track Associates did. But if Duke agrees with me then maybe I should reconsider :2: Sorry Duke I just couldnt help myself.

I agree wholeheartedly.
What in the hell is the matter with everyone?
What's next the indy twin 250's.
W T H ??
I will go to Gas City for 1/2 the price & see better racing. Is USAC destined to ruin the Champ car sport ?? They almost did a couple years back now this bull?? Come on! They just don't want the average guy winning anything. For shame, for shame!

The Hulman-Hoosier Fiftyone / Fourtynine ??? Who in the name of little fish and all that's Holy came up with that idea?? Dirt Cars have run 100 miles FOREVER - I can't believe anyone would even consider changing one of the greatest traditions remaining in racing. I will never attend again if this redundant change catches on!! Is nothing sacred ???
