Not your fault Dave.....earlier this morning I was hoping you would cancel it. The writing was on the wall for spending an entire day preparing to race only to have Mother Nature dump on us.

Good luck predicting the weather in this area. I have lived here for 46 years and have not seen anyone do it well.....I am just glad you made an early decision and stuck to it.

Given all the information you had I would have made the same call. The price of gas & deisel, the haul of some of those from Illinois and across Indiana and the 'flawless" weather forecast, it seemed like the right thing to do.

I know i only get to make about 3 trips a year to Indiana but i visit this board often and this is why i love Lawrenceburg and the entire crew and especially Mr. Rudisell. Dave posts more things on here than any other owner or promoter that i know of and he tells it like it is. He is very informative and for him to come on here and say he blew it is impressive beyond belief. He didn't blow anything, nobody controls the weather.

I think everyone felt it was gonna get rained out, you need to do some anti-rain dancing this week for next saturday. Went to a local track friday anticipating a rain out sat. I learned why draft beer at a dirt track is not a good idea. I'll do my part and NOT check the forecast.

I do not think you made a bad decision, you had the racers and fans best interest in mind by canceling early. As it turned out you are the one that lost money, kinda like throwing yourself in front of the bus to save us from danger. It is also my opinion that you are far from being a fool. We had hard rain most of the night here in Kokomo and nothing showing on the radar but rain as we speak, weather is kinda like going to the casino, you never know. Good luck with the weather next weekend.

Dave, you made the right decision based on the forecast, and the forecast only missed you by a short distance, as it has been, and still is raining heavily just south of the Burg.

not a bad decision, Dave. everyone in the midwest expected torrential downpours last night! crowds and car counts could possibly have suffered enormously. it was the right call to make given the information we all had. see you next week!!!!

Dave,

Don't beat yourself up over the call you made. With the weather we had yesterday, no matter what you decided it would have been wrong. As a true race fan, I will take chances to see a race even with the odds stacked against me (LPS last night). You on the other hand have to make a call with not just us hardliners in mind, but for the casual fans who won't take those chances.

Also, you need to have a decision that you can live with for owners, drivers, crews, workers, and visiting series officials. Not an easy task when the sky is ominous and the forecast isn't good. There will be better nights for racing at da Burg. See you then.
