Two tracks that are gone

Warsaw had an outside wall all the way around. It's gone and the track bank has been removed. It is on the fairgrounds property-the grond is still used for favor week tractor/truck pull, and the show and shine parade.

The property owners around the lake now have changed since the track closed in '90, and would likely throw a big fit about the noise. They tolerate the tractor pull, but weekly racing on the shores of Winona Lake isn't coming back.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Those were my two "home" tracks as a kid. Spent a lot of time at both places. I never did go to Avilla after they paved it. Nothing wrong with pavement racing, but I just didn't want to go after the great dirt racing I saw there.
