Late last year, Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas was one of the four winners from a list of 12 sites. Over 15,000 votes were cast in the competition. This goes to show what race fans can do if we put our minds to it and vote.

I thought it was really neat that a bullring was one of the winners. Race tracks are tourist attractions, and Riverside is more of a landmark than a lot of the things I have seen over the years which are advertised as landmarks.
I am glad you pointed this out. I think there was some historic society that intervened on the behalf of the track in Terre Haute too. You'd be surprised that they aren't just into old houses etc. This isn't to say that every old track is going to be saved by them, but it's worth a shot. And yes, fan input is always needed if nothing else but to show there is some interest.

Manzy became my weekly race track ten years ago when I moved out west, I still get sick everytime I think about it being gone and how it went away. Dirty deal! I have heard nothing for the past 6 to 8 months about a new Manzy being built in the valley as was being talked about last year when Manzy closed. An even if a new track is built the history that was Manzy is gone. I have not been able to bring myself to go down 35th Ave. since the last race Easter Sunday last year. Allot of peoples Easter plans changed last year when rain forced the final race to be moved until Easter Sunday. Canyon and USA Raceway in Tucson have tried to fill the gap but in my heart they will never replace Manzy.
