Looks like another way to keep the incoming horde of development drivers back for another few years. This keeps seats open for the F-1 and Indycar guys to come in and fulfill Nascrap's committment to diversity.

I don't think it is a bad idea making the under 21 crowd run in the support series for awhile though.

Just my opinion, blast away.

If the car owner wants to take a chance on an 18 year old I say let him. The kids old enough to hold a gun and go to jail, why tell him he can't race. More rules, thats what racing needs.:kookoo2:

The way the goverment is putting the screws to all of us legals we may all be holding guns before it's over. I agree that we do not need more rules. I still would like to know why this is so important now???

That owner is not only taking a chance with his equipment and the kid's health but, the equipment and well being of 42 others on the track as well. I think 21 at the upper levels of motorsport is a great idea.

Personally it a nice idea...sweet...LOL and considerate, but kids
have been trying to drive sprint cars and midgets for years under-age
and have right! They even go through great lengths to do it legally,
with all the correct paperwork..right?

And some tracks like the one in Arizona have let a few very young
kids drive midgets in their series at a very low age, maybe even too
young.

Some people just lie and create false, illegal documents. Kind
of the American way. If you can't do it leagally you lie. Everybody
kind of shines their heads and bows to the fact, "Oh what the heck",
who cares it's not my kid or my life and I'm not driving.

This question has been on XM radio for a couple days now.
And Clair has asked a lot of prominent people in Nascar thier views.


Now, I hope I get this name right. But I want to say this one engine
builder went to the Chillibowl. Kind out of character. He's a nascar guy.

And I want to say he mentioned the name Bacon. He said that kid

If this rule gets put into effect, it would be for the sole purpose of drumming up interest in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. When the NBA enacted the "one year removed" rule (where recent high school grads couldn't immediately jump to the professional ranks), college basketball grew in product quality and television ratings...two items the former Busch Series would like to see turned around in future years.

18 year-olds would still race Nationwide, Trucks, and low and behold, sprints and midgets.
