Susan, best wishes and prayers to your friend. 42 is way too young. May she, her family and friends have the strength to deal with this. One of God's greatest gifts is that of hope. We may have no right to expect things to turn out as we wish, but we always have hope.

@# is too young too. That's my sister-in-law's age as she battles lymphoma. She had surgery 10 days after my mom was buried. The tumor on her small intestine was successfully removed, but chemotherpay starts for her on Dec. 3. It's a bad disease and the treatment may be even worse, but she's a fairly strong individual. too bad she's not a race fan.

Just lost my best friend Rick Stewart last week to this god forsaken crap.. So I'll add Jackie to my list,, 42 is much to young, not that there is ever a good age.

Racegal I am sending thoughts and prayers for your friend Jackie. Jackie, I hope that your treatment is successful and you are back in the swing of things in no time flat.

Danny, I am sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. We will also be sending thoughts and prayers her way for a speedy recovery.

No matter what age this dreaded disease strikes, it is way too young.
