29j, I just like the number 29 and j is my first initial. I don't know if you could get away with it now, but back in the late 80s/ early 90s either Randy Turner or Scott Luhdorff (I can't remember which) in California ran the number 4Q.:wink1:

Being a Chuck Amati fan, I could pick any number between 0 and 100, and be pretty safe in that it would have been one that he had run.

Is there any other driver who ran in the 1950's-2000's (I believe Chuck started in the late fifties)? A span of six decades!

Carl Nagel, a NY/PA modified driver is still racing after starting his career in the 50's. Also Don Klein, a St. Louis area modified driver, has done the same. Floyd Alvis, BCRA midget driver. I believe Buzzie Reutimann started in the late 50's. He is still racing modifieds and LM's in Fla. And Will Cagle is racing Legends cars. Jack Duffy, who started his career at the Weisglass and Roosevelt tracks in the early 50's is still racing TQ's in Fla. I'm sure that there may be a few more.

I have always liked the #50, plus it was the # Bud Doty had on his cars.

Mine is 69 because of Rich Vogler and Robbie Stanley and also because Cary Faas drove that number and now its Jerry Coons, Jr. I guess you could say I've always been a Hoffman Racing fan!!

You've got me thinking. I know of two drivers who raced in 7 decades. Hershal McGriff, a California NASCAR pioneer, who raced from the late 40's until just a couple of years ago. He might still be taking an occasional spin around a race track! And eastern midget great Len Duncan who began his career in 1927. I last saw Duncan race in a midget event at Bridgeport, NJ in 1983. He took a wild flip down the backstretch and limited his racing to TQ's for a short time after that. Sadly, Duncan passed away in a Philadelphia area nursing home several years ago. He was an eight time ARDC champion and won the 1955 AAA Eastern midget championship.

Mel Kenyon's career has spanned several decades, as has Bentley Warren's. Stock car guy Red Farmer has driven forever also. Back to the number thing. In high school I was number 11 on my baseball team because of Steve Kinser. I was 27 in football.
