Last year they tried running 300 plus cars in 2 days. The Chili Bowl doesn't even do that. It was the 1st year and a lot of changes for year 2. Several classes of go karts and micros will run the weekend before the "midget weekend". On "midget weekend" Quarter midgets will run during the day. Midgets, Dwarf/Modlites, and 1200 Outlaw Mini-Sprints will run at nite. No trailers inside the building (including midgets). On each end of the track, the inside berm will be pushed further out to lengthen the racing surface. A little more bank will be added. With us running the 2nd weekend, the track and the operation should be smoothed out. The Sat nite midget race last year turned out to be a good race with side by side racing and passing. Entry forms should be posted on www.twasthemidgets.com shortly.

It sounds like they have their act together this year, and looks like they will have a good turn out. JT is taking some Mini Sprint out to Ks I hear. I think I will go just to watch all the action and take alittle vacation also. Everyone that is able to go, you don't want to miss this.

Bull Ring Midget Nationals Dec 18th and 19th

The following was sent to the MMSA by Bob Douglas of the MOLS:

“I was told by Scott Pennington (the Promoter for the "Bull Ring Midget Nationals and the No Bull Small Cars Nationals"), that the 1200 cc Outlaw Mini Sprints will run on Dec 18th and 19th with the midgets.” We will be running with wings. They will run quarter midgets during the daytime. The Modlite/Dwarf Cars, 1200 Outlaw Mini Sprints and the Midgets will run at night. There will be a complete show each night.
All participants, including the midgets, will unload their trailers. The trailers will be parked outside. We will be pitted in the same building with the midgets. Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards will be in attendance signing autographs. They will not be racing.

The No Bull Small Car Nationals (all Go Kart Classes and Micro classes) will be run the weekend before the Midget Nationals.

We will have the following advantages:
1 - Racing a week after they have gotten the track surface figured out
2 - The track personnel will have a weekend of getting things ironed out.
3 - A great deal more exposure of running the same weekend with the midgets.
4 - The No Bull Small Car Nationals (all Go Kart Classes and Micro classes) will be run the weekend before the Midget Nationals.

Here is the purse structure for our 1200 cc races each night at Kemper Arena in KC Dec 18th and 19th.

1)600
2)400
3)350
4)300
