Is that going to be the answer to all the one lane, dry, dusty, rubbered up, slick race tracks. OK I'll use vacation travel 100's of miles and spend 100's of dollars to watch ****** racing, because it could become a mall. Maybe for YOU, not for ME.

The track is definitely bad sometimes, like last night. But, making the statement that it is that way all or most of the time would be an overstatement. Midget Week, this year and last, were some of the best midget races I've ever seen. And last year's Sprint Week race was probably the best of the series, that year. IMO, he just needs a way to get the track back, when it goes bad. Currently, once it's gone, it pretty much stays that way.

So if you were in charge, what would you do? Before anybody suggests it, Tom Helfrich can't prep EVERY dirt track in the Country. |

If Putnamville gets a date next year, I hope they drop Bloomongton and keep Boswell. Last night was a disgrace of a track for a Sprint Week Show. Of course , JMO

I sure as heck can't give any advice. I just know when we started coming out to Indy,1997, Bloomington ROCKED, I don't know what happened. I hope they can figure it out though, because I'd like to come to the second week of Sprint Week so I can get back to Haubstadt......Dirt tracks everywhere are having trouble keeping a good surface. If I had a magic potion, I'd be a millioniare.... ![]()

As someone that watched Manzy go away faster than you can blink an eye, I ask the question what makes a track owner say enough is enough and sell out to a crane co. or shopping mall? Todays economy plays into that equation more than ever, bad weather, poor crowds, low car count and the feeling that the fans no longer appreciate the racing you are trying to provide them with. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. While it does sound like Bloomington needs to step up their track prep at least they are still trying to operate as a race track and not selling out. The rumors are flying that Kamp is closing. I have watched Manzy close, Jennerstown, and Mansfield sit mostly idle, Star Speedway in N. H. is beyond being on life support and probably will revert back to the former owner in the near future. An yes the last three tracks I mentioned don't run Indiana sprint cars on them. However any track in any state is in jeopardy of being gone in the blink of an eye. So, be thankful if your favorite track is owned by someone that pours their heart and soul into providing you with racing action. I have to agree with P. J. on this one, I would much rather see racing on a not so perfect track than no racing at all.
