I don't know, maybe "interlopers"? Not clever or funny, but just calling a spade a spade.

What I'd like to see them do is this: They should make the guys with a Cup license run on a temporary license in the Nationwide Series. They could win purse money but not Nationwide points. And they would not be protected with any type of "top 35" deal. They would have to qualify their way in.

It would be way different.

The current way of doing it sux.

In most of the world, the national football (soccer) league consists of 3 or more levels. Here's how it works in England.

Level 1 (Premier League): 20 Teams; top 6 in standings qualify for various European competitions next year; bottom 3 drop down to Level 2 next year.

Level 2 (Championship League): 24 Teams; top 3 in standings & playoff go up to Level 1 next year; bottom 3 drop down to Level 3 next year.

The same idea continues down through 8 levels.

I'd suggest NASCAR have 35 teams in the Sprint Cup circuit. The bottom 5 drop down to Grand National next year.

35 more teams in GN. Top 5 rise up to Sprint Cup; Bottom 5 drop down to ARCA.

etc.

Drivers not permitted to run more than one level.

Wouldn't that make the end of the year more interesting?

Actually, I saw an interview with Mike Wallace earlier in the year, and he wanted to correct everyone. It isn't "Warren", it's "Lauren" Wallace. I know, it sounds like he's saying Warren to me too. That kid cracks me up. "I'm a hundred miles away son....ready to strike". LOL :rolling:
By the way, in my humble opinion, no driver in the top 20 in cup points should be allowed to race in busch. Unfortunately that would decrease ticket sales so it will never happen. When you think about it, what a ridiculous deal. Can't imagine Curt Schilling going to the Portland Sea Dogs minor league team to pitch on his off day. Peyton Manning going to the Arizona Rattlers arena league team to QB for funzies. But it's ok in nascar. $$$$$$$$$ :kookoo2:

Nats might describe the 'ole Buschwhackers.
1) Shortens Nationwide (which is too long anyways)
2) Pesty little bugs that are hard to get rid of.

I would expect to see less cross over next year due to the Car of Tomorrow. Since the cars are so much different there isn't as much to learn by running the Grand National series.

BTW ,that is what I am calling the old Busch series. Can't bring myself to say Nationwide. Probably because of who I work for!

If the Cup guys don't drop down and run, it will definitely hurt the attendance at the GN races. Then I would expect to see more marketing packages from the race tracks where you have to buy weekend tickets for all races.

I read in the Bloomington, IL newspaper that there is a nationwide plethora of lawsuits against State Farm.
