At least lately I have seen in both racing and hockey where how good a driver or player is, doesn't always equate to "MAKING THE SHOW". In Hockey, Sombody somewhere doesn't like you and you'll be in the minors your entire career. or in Racing where never meeting the right people will get you passed over.

This takes nothing from Lucas. Congrats.

I also don't know if the sacrifices or the ability to do so is still there that many paths drivers took made over the years. Such as showing up the first of may, changing tires for nothing sometimes multiple years and then going out and barnstorming bullrings for months tryinhg to get noticed. (Does this still happen?)

Heres to having your dreams realized and staying safe in the process

I've been a fan of his since he started in sprint cars. I actually used to have a shirt of his dad, from back when I was little and we went out to PA. Lucas is a great guy, someone that everyone around here should cheer for. He has raced wingless and is a true racer across the board...
Kirk, Lucas has been working on this for over a year. He has aways wanted to stay in openwheel cars. When I met him in 2006 he stayed at my house for five weeks spending the whole month of May at the speedway meeting as many people as he could, going to many shops. He really wants this so best of luck to him and PDM.

I definitely knew that this was the direction he wanted to go. We had talked about it before. I'm happy for him....I'd love nothing more than to see him coming down the front chute to take the green flag for the 500!!
