Does anyone on here either use a spring or not use a spring, or know someone who either uses a spring or doesn't use a spring, that could share some rationale for the reason they do or don't?

Eric, I'll give you my opinion, for what it's worth, and hope I don't get egged for that also, your question is kinda like mine on the midgets, but here goes, I run one, I like to keep that driveshaft planted as deep as possible in the internal coupling, I have a long snout on my front yoke, so I don't worry about it vibrating there, then if I want to pull the rear end up under it for more bite, I have some room to do that, now, does that make sense? Eric, some of the sprint cars, and midgets used to come with an adjustable ladder mount, just so you could change the wheelbase, if you needed to. Bob

Thank you. Do you use a different length driveshaft with or without a spring?

I never went without one, so I can't say, I have about an inch and a half of float, without the spring, and the rear end out as far as I want it, that gives me almost an inch to shorten the wheelbase, if I need to. Most yokes, unless they've been cut off, have a good 3 1/2 to 4in of spline, I usually turn mine down on the OD some, to keep them from rubbing the inside of the torque tube. Bob
