I think there should be a minimum speed in the little 500 If the leaders are dong 12.2 and someone's out there getting lapped every five laps doing 15s or higher throw the black flag. they get one chance to return and be within say 2.5 second speeds.
I've attended three and will attend more. Two of the three were highly entertaining. the third was a Swanson ass kicking. It also sucks if one of your favorites is out early. Grand didn't make the 100 lap mark.

The thrill of winning it is TREMENDOUS
I was buddy's with Jack French and that guy worked his tail off on a special car every year. Eric Gordon won a couple with Banjo Enterprises (that was the sponsor when I was around, they won several) also Jacob Wilson took the checkers and I have been there with him when he got knocked out early. It's a special deal. There are a ton of secrets to winning the thing. |

Getting to any race track early and setting up your tailgate affords you the absolute pleasure of sitting on your ass enjoying a cold beverage and watching the late arrivals scramble

Not to mention the connection to the rump rump of the engine to the alcohol in the tank, the cam in the engine makes the rump rump of the engine and the alcohol makes the smell in the air, and a bit of Uplon in the tank insures the engine is getting better cylinder lube than just the dry alcohol

Getting to Anderson around 3 is perfect. They do a brief hot lap session around 4:30 or so, 1/2 the field at a time where everybody runs on full tanks of fuel and usually does a live practice pit stop. Buy some Little 500 or team merchandise before it sells out and hit the driver autograph session under the Pavillion. Grab a tenderloin sandwich from the turn 1 concession stand. Leave you ear protection off for the first 5 laps or so there is no other sound quite like it! Good advice on having the race monitor app on a phone or iPad and turn one seats are great as the sun sets behind you. Enjoy IMS and Kokomo!

Hi everyone! I’m new here and excited to join the conversation. I was wondering why it’s so important to arrive early at the speedway, especially for Turn 1 seats at events like the one in Anderson. Does arriving early help you get settled, explore a bit, or soak in the atmosphere before the race? Are there any special activities or spots near Turn 1 that make it even more worth getting there early, like Merrillville Al and others have suggested? |
