Duh, compare the two genres you saw last night on Speed. Schatz runs away with it from the pole
Davey Johnson leads the first lap, McDowell takes over, Pearson overtakes McDowell as he fades. Richards comes from nowhere to lead, Clanton running the topside reeling in the leaders, And Pearson tries to make a last ditch effort for the win. Most of you are LM haters, but you cant deny great racing when you see it. And before you ask...I will be working STRICTLY Winged Races next year...

I don't hate the outlaws (well maybe their officials, they made some very bad calls this year) but they can put on some good racing, but Lowe's has to be one of the most boring tracks to watch them at esp. when you have Donny "Kinser" on the pole. The tin top race was much better.

Not arguing which race was better. The Outlaw race was very boring; the late model show had it beat, hands down. But it was slick for the fendered guys, and there weren't very many of them making much progress up top. I was watching.

I for one don't hate the Late Models, probably the best race I saw this year was at Haubstadt and it was some kind of late model show. Naw, I take that back the best show I saw this year was the USAC race at Bloomington when Levi almost beat Coons at the line. But anyway they were 3 wide racing for the lead and they never touched each other. No slide jobs or flat out running over each other as I saw through out the year in the sprints.
As for the race at Charlotte Saturday, hands down better than the sprint show. 50 laps instead of 30??? I have been saying it all year, the World of Outlaw Sprints are about to price themselves right out racing. But I still LOVE THE SPRINT CARS!!! |
