Geoff, remember rough times pass. I know you are disappointed, but think of Mike Fedorcak and other who have had to sit out.

I understand you will still be crew chief at Fort Wayne. You take care and stay up. We look forward to seeing you.

Best,
Tony Barhorst

I visited Geoff last night at the hospital and he was much improved. He had eaten dinner and been up a few times with the brace on. He still has a lot of pain but he was able to make conversation (about racing, of course). As of last night he had not been able to talk to the neuro specialist so there is no word on how long he will be there. He is comfortable and not in danger and the hospital is really nice so I don't think there is any reason to hurry.

Take your time Geoff and make sure you have a good specialist in what ever injury you have. I've been in your shoes some years ago and it takes time to heal. I wish you a speedy recovery. Get well soon!

Spine injuries are probably the worst physical injury a person can suffer through. I've been there. No one knows true pain till they've had a back injury. However, with the proper doctor and therapy you can overcome it. Keep your head up man. Try to stay away for the painkillers as much as possible. I've seen too many people become dependent on them after spine injurys. It may suck without them, but in the long run you'll be much better off just avoiding them all together.
